Get Your Magazine or Newspaper on Newsstands with Professional ISSN Barcodes
You focus on the editorial content, and we will handle the barcode. If you publish a magazine, newspaper, or periodical, we provide the globally standardized GS1-format barcode images required by retailers to scan and track your printed publication.
Important: Do you have your ISSN number yet?
We generate high-resolution barcode images based on your publication's 8-digit ISSN number. We cannot create your barcode if you do not have an ISSN assigned to your publication yet. Click here to get an ISSN number first → Then come back to us to generate your barcode.
Tailored Formats for Your Publishing Schedule
-
Standard 13-Digit Format: The most common layout. We convert your 8-digit ISSN into a 13-digit EAN barcode by adding the industry-standard '977' prefix and your specific price code.
-
13+2 Supplement Format: Ideal for tracking individual issues. We add a 2-digit supplement to the end of your barcode (for example, 01 to 12 for monthly magazines, or 01 to 52 for weeklies).
-
Designer-Ready Files: Your images are emailed instantly in 3 high-resolution formats (PNG, SVG vector, and PDF) so your graphic designer can drop them straight onto your cover art.
Choose Issue Number vs. No Issue Number:
-
✓
Standard 13-Digit Format (No Issue Number): Converts your 8-digit ISSN into a 13-digit EAN barcode using the '977' prefix. This single barcode can be reused across every issue unless your retail price changes.
-
✓
13+2 Supplement Format (Issue Number): Features a 2-digit add-on code to uniquely identify individual editions (e.g., 01 to 12 for monthlies, or 01 to 52 for weeklies).
